Dealing with stress is, unfortunately, an all too real part of modern life and has reached epidemic proportions in our society. We find ourselves in stressful situations on a daily basis, ranging from minor stresses, such as not being able to find a parking space, through to more serious or ongoing issues. Stress is cumulative; the more isolated episodes of stress we encounter the more stressed we ultimately end up feeling!
When we are stressed, our sympathetic nervous system (our ‘flight or fight’ response) kicks in, and it is this state that many of us find ourselves constantly dwelling in, whether due to work or lifestyle stresses. This means that our parasympathetic system – the one responsible for, amongst other things, slowing the heart rate, digestion, conserving energy and allowing the body to recharge – cannot fulfil its function, leading to disorders such as IBS, bad skin, chronic tiredness and irritability.
Sadly, stress has become so normalised in our culture that we often don’t know how to deal with it or avoid it. If you ask everyone you know if they are stressed, the vast majority would probably say that they are and that they emphatically want this to change.
So what can we do about it?
Avoiding factors in life that stress us out is not realistically always possible. However, reprogramming how we interact with those stressors and how we deal with them is. Finding methods that help keep stress manageable or at bay can dramatically affect your day to day life.

Meditation Classes
My favourite way to reconnect with my inner self and find stillness. Meditation is a wonderful tool we can employ on a daily basis to help us find moments of calm and stillness.
Don’t worry if you’ve never meditated before, sessions are suitable for complete beginners all the way up to seasoned practitioners.
Chinese Tea Meditation & Reiki Sessions
We all love a cuppa but have you ever considered how you could integrate your daily brew into your wellbeing practice?
We will be finding harmony with the spirit of the tea plant and using its energies to help us move mindfully into the changing seasons. Session can focus on an individual tea, or a variety, depending upon your requirements.
You’ll learn about leaf tea, the historic relationship we have with it in the Western world, and how to brew it properly.
In additional to our tea meditation, we will also undertake a Reiki healing session to help embed the intentions of the session.
You will be seated for the session (ideally on the floor so we can stay grounded to the Earth energies but there are some chairs if you need one). This means you may want to bring a cushion and wear comfy clothes. There will also be opportunity to discuss purchasing your own teas and teapots.
You could book one of these sessions as an group fo friends, as an individual looking to learn more about our relationship with the tea plant, or they are occasionally run as group sessions, booking below:
