Irrespective of the sport you’re involved with, I’m guessing there’s some degree of flexibility required.
Flexibility can be compromised when there is muscular dysfunction, postural imbalance, or injury.
One of the main benefits of sports massage is the lengthening and stretching of the muscles, which ultimately leads to an increase in flexibility. By using soft tissue release techniques, muscles that have previously been tight and lacking the full range of motion can be encouraged to release and begin functioning more effectively.
Whilst I can’t promise to get you doing the splits after your treatment (let’s face it, you probably don’t want to!), sports massage will help release those tight muscles.
